- What is the Intelligence & Security Agency?
- The ISA department consists of selected officers who work to ensure a safe chat environment by enforcing the Prime Directives. This includes the extermination of any potential threat (both internal and external) and protection of all members of Outpost 10F.
- What does ISA do?
- The officers of the Intelligence and Security Agency are responsible for ensuring that the Prime Directives are enforced in the chatroom. This includes removing violators from the chatrooms, as well as contacting senior officers regarding any potential threats to the safety of the patrons of Outpost10f.com
- How do I join the ISA?
- The ISA is not open for application due to the sensitive nature of work done by its officers. New members will be chosen and invited by the ISA Directors.
FAQ for ISA Members
- What is the ISA Mailing List for?
- The mailing list helps the members of the department to communicate with each other and with the executive staff. All mail that has in any way to do with the department is sent to the list.
- How do I join the departmental mailing list?
- You will be added to all appropriate ISA mailing lists by the department moderator when you have been officially accepted into the department.
- Do I really have to join this mailing list?
- Yes. Membership in the ISA mailing lists is mandatory for all members.
- I have rather private message / suggestion / request. Do I really have to send it to the list?
- To every rule there are exceptions. If you want, or need, to keep your thoughts secret for the moment you may sent a private mail. However, if the topic is of general interest you may be asked to resend that mail to the list.
- I will have to be offline for some time. Will this affect my position in the department?
- No. If this is just for a short period of time (up to one week), don't worry about it. If you know you're going to be offline for longer periods of time (more than one week), please send a mail to the list, and we'll change your status to "on leave". Before going on leave, be sure that you have finished all your assignments, and if you haven't, ask someone in the department to take over for you. You can stay on leave for up to two months; if you're going to be offline for longer than that, you will receive a mail asking you if you have lost interest in working with the ISA. Further steps depend on the situation.
- I am rather busy in real life and can't commit much time to my ISA duties, what do I do?
- Basically the same applies as to being offline for some time. Be sure to send a mail to the list telling us that you're busy; real life should take precedence over online work at this time. However, if you're going to be busy for longer periods of time, you should consider stepping down from your post to make room for new members.
- How can I leave the department?
- You simply write a short mail to the mailing list telling us about your intentions to leave the department and sign off the mailing list afterwards. You are not required to explain yourself on this issue, yet we would like to ask you to please contact any department executive before taking this final step.
- How do I get promoted?
- ISA is a department like any other in OTF. As such, work in ISA makes one eligible for promotions, including senior ones. The requirements are fairly obvious. An ISA deputy should spend a lot of time in the chats and be ready to handle any situations that arise promptly and professionally. In continuously performing their job well, an ISA deputy can expect to reach a rank of CL5. Promotion past that rank will usually require a higher position within the department.
